Single Brush Wash Systems
Buyers guide for single brush wash systems
With the rising popularity of single brush wash systems, small to medium fleet owners are able to clean large vehicles in just a few minutes without the investment of a large automated wash system.
Brush Lubrication
To ensure a uniform clean and a long lasting brush, it is important that the brush is lubricated with detergent. Therefore, ensure you always apply detergent when using a single brush system. It doesn’t require much but the surface of the vehicle should feel ‘slippery’; you don’t need bubbles everywhere. For this reason, owners of properly calibrated single brush wash systems often report that they use less detergent than they did when manual washing.
Battery Vs Diesel
What will power your system? There are a range of options but battery and diesel are most popular.Diesel powered units are surprisingly quiet and extremely reliable – just top it up with diesel and keep going.Battery units are basically silent but you need to ensure your staff will be disciplined in charging the batteries.
Strong Brush
It is important to have brush filaments that last. To this end, our systems use the world leading Favagrossa vehicle cleaning brushes. They’re gentle on vehicles while being very long lasting. A strong brush coupled with a proper brush lubrication system helps ensure you many year of hassle-free use.
Thorough Final Rinse
This important part of any quality wash system is a balancing act: higher flow rinse helps get rid of any sediment left behind by the cleaning process but minimising flow is important to keeping overall water consumption to a minimum.
Our systems ensure this is well calibrated – flushing away any sediment and leaving a gleaming vehicle without wasting water unnecessarily.
Servicability and Backup
All things need attention eventually. My 1986 Toyota Starlet eventually needed some work (although it took an absurdly long time) so we can be sure that anything mechanical is going to need some technical support.
Does the way the system works make sense to you? If not, who is going to fix it?
We deliver our systems with technical training for on-site staff. We then ensure that we’re available to offer support and parts if or when you need them.
Stability
Its easy to get a compromised system with a spinning brush that looks like it will do the job. Experience has proven otherwise. When you consider a single brush vehicle wash system, ensure that the unit will work in your washbay as slightly uneven surfaces can trip up basic systems.
Our 500 series single brush units work on very uneven ground.
Brush Tilt
In order to contour to the shape of vehicles and potentially uneven washbay floors, it is important to be able to incline or tilt a single brush wash system’s brush.
Our systems all tilt up to 15 degrees – achieved through having a very stable machine base.
Ease of Operation
It is important that any single brush wash system you consider is easy for staff to operate. This includes:
Comfortable position facing the brush so they can manage wash speed suitably
Integrated torque bypass to allow the brush to slow/stop if they drive to hard into the vehicle
Comfortable easy touch controls that can be operated all day without fatigue
